Mary Riley, CPA

"Accounting is like a puzzle: putting together all the pieces to form the whole picture of where you have been and where you can go."

Our public accounting firm was founded by Mary Riley, an experienced and trusted certified public accountant, in 1994. Before starting her own firm in Atlanta with only five clients, she worked as a tax manager for a “Big Eight” public accounting firm for seven years, as well as for two years at the second-largest local accounting firm in Atlanta. She moved her practice to Johnson City, TN in January of 2010.

As a result of more than thirty years of experience advising clients ranging in size from multi-national, publicly-held corporations to home-based businesses, Mary has a unique advantage in her breadth of knowledge of practical accounting and tax issues. Mary is licensed as a CPA both in Georgia and in Tennessee. She is a Certified QuickBooks® ProAdvisor, and works with a variety of clients to make sure their financial accounting systems work for them.

Mary is also a recognized leader in the business and accounting arenas. She has served as president of the Atlanta chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners; in 2005, she was named Member of the Year. Mary also served as President of the American Woman’s Society of Certified Public Accountants, a national organization formed in 1933 and dedicated to serving all women CPAs. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and of the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants. She was recently chosen to serve on the AWSCPA Task Force of the AICPA, formed to assist in a smooth and successful merger of the two organizations.
